Yesterday we went out for a coffee break. I needed some coffee because I was supposed to be doing a load of gardening – and frankly couldn’t face it without some sustenance. I hate Gardening.
So off we popped for a Flat White. Well I did. Hubby doesn’t drink coffee so he ordered a Hot Chocolate.
This is what we got:
(Sorry for the quality of the photo btw!)
You see that is (by any cafe standards) a SMALL flat white. In a Tulip Cup 160ml – which is the smallest of the standard coffee cups here. Hubby’s hot chocolate came in a much larger cup – Latte size or 300ml. (Out of interest a cappuccino size is 200ml and most places use that for a Flat White.)
While my tiny 160ml flat white coffee cost $4 – which is bloody expensive anyway – Hubby got almost twice as much drink (and two marshmallows) for $4.50!
Now that just isn’t cricket!
So I won’t be going back to that cafe. While I am actually quite happy to buy a small Flat White like that – I am not paying that much for it!
