On the one hand - I like the fag we have and don't want it to change. On the other hand I can see why other people are so adamant that they don't like it. As an English person who is one of many sick to death at being told we cant fly a St George Cross because it might offend people - I can see why many Kiwis (whether Maori or not) feel strongly about this. As a brit, I also highly object to having the European Union Flag flown in Britain, so again - I can kinda see why this is important for people. As to what the flag should be? No idea. But I think while I like the flag chosen by Maori to fly at Waitangi - the fact that it is associated with a political party makes it a really bad idea. Canada has done the *leaf* thing so much better than anyone else . Let's not go there. Why oh why can't people just leave the flag issue alone. The present one is just fine.
