Don’t poop in Nelson.
Following on from my blog about Horowhenua council dumping effluent in their local lake, North and South carries a very interesting (and yet really icky) letter from a resident of Nelson. Nelson is quite popular as an expat destination – so take note!
The writer tells about Nelson Council’s 10-year plan.
The top priority is spending $32 million on a new Entertainment centre. I think that means a bit more than a big TV and a surround sound system.
Bottom (funnily enough) of the priorities was to improve the sewage system which treats the sewage for the whole of the Nelson Region. Even then – their preferred (read cheapest) solution is to build a pipe to pump the sewage into the Tasman Sea.
But hey – you can go to the theatre – who need toilets that work?
