Saga of an NZIS nightmare parts 6&7 – It goes on and on…

Round and round and round we go – does any of this sound familiar yet?

In Part 6 – And still it goes on… More opinions from non-medical experts, questioning a medical expert, and yet more false accusations from NZIS.

In Part 7 – And on… We actually hold out hope of getting help from our elected MP, hold your breath – yep that was short lived!   While NZIS continue throwing out chaff that obviously works when you’re in politics to distract from the real issues – it just doesn’t work in the real world.

In an ironic twist, Immigration advice from an MP, who doesn’t have to be licensed under the new IAA rules, is complete rubbish.  Good to see that the Immigration Advisors Act is cleaning up the situation of poor support and help being given to migrants.  If only migrants could give each other advice.

  2. Note: This comment is copied from another post, but also fits relaly well here, as it seems we are not the only people who have suffered because INZ lied to an MP and the MP fell for it.

I rang INZ three times in the one day and spoke to three different officers, only to be told three different answers to my question. Also, I requested my wife and my complete files, pursuant to the official information act, which formed some interesting reading. One of the highlights, there was another women ’s file mixed in with my wife’s file

You would have thought the penny would have dropped when they read the other persons name on my wife’s file, but no. INZ gave this information to John Keys office, who was making some inquiries on my behalf. They were told things like my wife’s sponsor met her in Beijing where they married. The sponsor at that time was a female.

When I rang John Keys office to see if they had made any progress with their inquiries, I received a different attitude from when I initially discussed our case with them, she was very rude to me and even to the point of hanging up on me.

It wasn’t until I received the disclosure of our files that I discovered why. They had been told a complete different story to the one I told them and of course they believed what was on the Immigration files, as you would. Who would expect information on as an important government department’s files, to be totally wrong and belong to another person.

When I contacted INZ about the wrongful information they are holding on my wife’s file, I was told they have put a notice on the bottom of the file saying delete, because once information in put onto their computers it can’t be removed apparently

Please consider making an official complaint to INZ about this – this is the ONLY way these people will be held to account for lying to cover thier own arses. You can find the process here:
    http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/generalinformation/complaintsprocess.htm

I also have a list of things that are helpful to know when making a complaint here:
    http://www.avalonsguide.com/anab/2009/04/10-things-you-need-know/

You can also make a complaint, as Alan said, to the privacy commisioner. INZ have broken privacy laws in mixing up someone elses file and sending you thier information. If you have enough Information to be able to contact that person – then please consider doing so – as it was thier privacy that was breached, and they are the ones who can really rake INZ over the coals.

Good luck – and go get ‘em!

    Hxxx
