Coffee Art.
Thanks to the magic of Twitter (yes – it does occasionally have it’s uses) I got a heads up on a post at Webdesigner depot about the stunning art you see on coffee.
Now most people outside New Zealand may never see this. I certainly didn’t until I came here. And it has to be said that we DO love our coffee here – so making your morning flat-white or Latte into a statement is a sign that you REALLY love yoru coffee.
This is a Picture of a Flat White that I took at the now deceased Chocolate Fish Cafe at Setoun in Wellington. Apparently this is the “Rosetta” design – though here we tend to think of it as a Silver Fern.
Right – Im off for a coffee.

What a great post, and the link to that cofee art leaves you breathless. (I love the sailing ship).
I’ve just had my twitter account suspended! So yes it does sometimes work, but then they go and take it away again! I don’t know why yet.
I really like the Dragon – I was just stunned by it!
Ive just read about yoru twitter account – and went and looked – apparently its an accident:

damn stunning – I think the fish in the sea is the most original
A Barista’s job is held in high esteem and the most skilled are truly praised and revered. I frequently find myself wanting to take a photograph of my Wellington coffee. Even when you ask for take-out – you can be guaranteed that – under that plastic lid a work of art is hiding. There is even a New Zealand Barista Competition and blogs dedicated to it .
Hey Sarah – where do you get your coffee – its obviously worth me checking out.
Clarks Cafe in the Library tend to do some fancy art – and teh coffee tastes fantastic. Not sure if its added to by also being surrounded by my second favorite thing – books !
Ahhh, books and coffee – you got me there too – favourite combination. I can’t remember specific cafes – but it’s usually the heart, fern, swirl pattern on most of my coffees. Do you find you can drink the coffee and still have the picture sitting in the bottom of the cup? That happens to me and I’m not sure if it’s simply the way I drink?!
Wow – ive never managed that – Im obviouxly just gulping it doen too fast
