They said it couldn’t be done.
Many migrants to New Zealand face problems in their dealings with NZIS (New Zealand Immigration Service). Sometimes these are simple delays; sometimes they are getting a straight answer to a simple question. Sometimes the issues are more serious. A lot of issues surround the somewhat “mystical” medical assessments.
So what happens when you have a problem? Well, this is a very long topic, and one day, I will be blogging in full about our experience in dealing with NZIS when there is a problem. But for now – all I want to say is that the advice from almost everywhere you can turn is “Don’t Rock The Boat“.
The general feeling seems to be that if you do – NZIS will ensure that your application is held back. Have to say – the evidence does kinda back that up. It’s the advice you are likely to get on the forums, and from your MP’s.
Screw that!
This reminds me of a little poem my dad really likes:
They said it couldn’t be done,
I said I would do it.
And I tried that thing which couldn’t be done,
And I couldn’t bloody do it.
Well, today’s version is:
They said it couldn’t be done,
I said I would do it.
And I tried that thing which couldn’t be done,
And I bloody well did it!
